SERVICES   CUSTOM SPLINTING: Our therapists have advanced training in the fabrication of customized splints..   Custom Splinting: Waverly Health Center   CUSTOM SPLINTING   Splinting of the wrist hand or fingers may be necessary in the treatment of many conditions, such as sprains/strains, Carpal Tunnel, finger fracture, and ligament/tendon injury. There are many prefabricated splints available, however in many cases a custom fabricated splint is indicated to allow for improved stability, mobilization, immobilization or optimal fit. Our Occupational Therapy staff includes many therapists who have advanced training in the fabrication of customized splints. They will work with you and your physician to develop a splint that meets your unique therapeutic needs. Base material; thicker for stabilization, medium weight for dynamic splints or light weight for Carpal Tunnel or DeQuervain’s will be selected and melted so it can be formed to your hand, wrist of arm.
