Center for Pediatric Therapies - Red Entrance of Waverly Health Center

Taylor Therapy's Comprehensive Pediatric Team, composed of physical, occupational, and speech therapists, are specially trained in the field of pediatric therapy to utilize play in their sessions to promote skill and age-appropriate activities. The role of a pediatric therapist is to work with the child and their family to assist each child to reach their maximum potential, function independently, and to promote active participation at home, in school, and in the community!

The new clinic space includes a state-of-the-art sensory gym that allows the pediatric team to expand the diagnosis they are able to treat, as well as the resources they have to treat them! In addition to the extensive list of diagnoses the team was previously able to treat, all disciplines have completed Level 1 Star Institute for Sensory Process Training. This training, in addition to the large gym space with a rock wall, stairs, slide, monkey bars, trampoline, and multiple wings, will support the sensory needs of children and teens with diagnoses such as autism, sensory processing disorder, and attention deficit disorder. Discipline specific private treatment rooms provide dedicated space for children who may benefit from a calm, quiet, and focused environment. In addition, one treatment room is feeding focused, equipped with all of the resources to help your child develop normal and effective feeding patterns and behaviors in one convenient location!

Coordinating schedule for the pediatric population can be tricky; therefore, a front desk specialist will be dedicated solely to the pediatric clinic to ensure consistency in scheduling appointments, answering questions, and troubleshooting scheduling conflicts. With the pediatric clinic a short distance from the Red Entrance of the Waverly Health Center, as well as weather protection provided by the overhang, patients are able to access their appointments with strollers and wheelchairs with ease!

Please call Taylor Physical Therapy at Waverly Health Center, (319) 352-5644, to learn more about the new pediatric clinic, pediatric therapy services, or to schedule an evaluation with one of our passionate therapists today!

Our meetings range from an open discussion format to having guest presenters in to discuss their areas of expertise in the care of children with special needs.

Anyone who is a family member or a care provider for a child with special health care needs is welcome.
